My fellow WFH (work from home) guys and gals KNOW what I mean when I say that your surroundings are everything when it comes to productivity. Give me clutter and chaos, and what you’ll get in return is a mess of unorganized thoughts and lackluster work. Give me organization and order, and I’ll be inspired to kill it and knock things off my to-do list in record time.
The minute I moved into my new apartment, I was SO excited to turn my second bedroom into my glam office. A guest bedroom wasn’t even a thought; I had major plans for the space that would be where I’d sit, pour out my ideas (and maybe some wine), and create magic. I wanted a space that was organized and inspiring enough to work on Melissa Chanel goodness (with a backdrop for blog pics and videos), Cantu projects, or just sip a glass of wine while curled up with a good book. Most of all, I needed the room to scream Melissa Chanel!

Partnering up with Amber of Blessed Little Bungalow was a dream come true; she helped take a plain ‘ol spare bedroom and transformed it into the glam room of my dreams! She sent me three moodboard concepts based on nothing but a phone call and a survey, and nailed them all! They were all so me. The dopest part of the whole process was that she pulled three looks from my blog and used them as inspiration for the room. Y’all, she’s the bomb!
One of my favorite pieces of this room is without a doubt my accent wall. I sent Amber a few walls for inspiration, including Myleik Teele’s popular accent wall, and we bought a can of black paint and went to work! After going back and forth on the pattern, Amber grabbed a brush and freestyled it. Again, she’s the dopest!
My other highlight is this neon logo light. I’m sure it’s not good for my eyes, but I can look into it all day long…it’s so beautiful! I searched all over Etsy for this baby, and I found the perfect person to bring it to life. The process was super smooth, too; I sent the vendor my logo, and two weeks later, the light was on my doorstep! I am in LOVE.
I never want to leave this room, but I made a promise to my boyfriend that I’d never fall asleep in it, LOL! Gotta keep work and (sleep) separate in order to keep this feeling like the ultimate home office.
Amber and I will definitely be working on more projects in the coming months…I’ve got a whole apartment that needs her special touch! But this is an amazing start.
You know I’m gonna share the wealth on where I snagged the items to make this room come to life. Here’s a quick and dirty shopping list:

LOVE LOVE LOVE that neon light!!!! Your workspace looks amazing, great job! I’m trying to find more info about the neon light but I’m having trouble with the link.
Thank you tons! The neon light is from Etsy. It looks like the person I purchased from deleted her page. Make sure you put neon light in the Etsy search. Tons of them will come up. Just check out the sizes and reviews before purchasing.
